Have you ever had a job interview where you received an info packaged on the company's health insurance?

This has never happened to me before. I've been on many interviews and NEVER received a health insurance benefit package explaining their insurance coverage.
--------------------
No, most places generally do not provide detailed information on their insurance programs until after they decide to give you the job. Most places will give you a basic idea of what their benefits package is. But they generally do not go into great detail on it unless and until you are hired by them... .

Does lack of health insurance translate into an absence of healthcare in the United States?

If I don't have health insurance and I go to an Emergency Room, will I receive treatment? If, on receiving treatment in the Emergency Room, it is learned that I am in critical need of a life saving surgical procedure, will I be told that, due to my lack of healthcare insurance, the hospital and healthcare professionals will be unable to initiate that procedure? Is the issue healthcare...or who, ultimately is going to pay for it?
--------------------
If you can not pay, you will not be turned away. However, there are a lot of folks out there who would rather have big screen tv's, digital cable, cell phone plans and a new 4 x 4 rather than pay for insurance. For some, it is not a priority and ironically these are the same people who are complaining they can't afford health insurance. It's all about personal responsibility and where your priorities lie.

Health Insurance for a 55 yr old unemployed man?

My father lost his job and is now drawing unemployment. He gets $274.00 per week. He did not have health insurance with his previous employer either. He really needs to go to the doctor for a check up, he smokes and drinks and he has been losing weight.. I am very worried about him and he cannot afford to get insurance and pay out of pocket. We live in Ohio, does anyone have any suggestions? Does he qualify for Medicaid or anything? Thanks for the help.

How much my health insurance cover to have me neutered?

I think its called castration for neutering humans. I don't have any health problems of any sort, but I just want to kill the urge for my body wanting to have sex. I'm 24 and will be 25 next year and if I haven't had sex by now its likely that I will never will. So I may will just kill the organs responsible for my urges. Its no use keeping something if your not going to use it.
--------------------
there is no reason why you wont have sex, you are still pretty young, when you meet the right person it will happen, but a dr will not carry out your wishes, for basically the same reason i have stated just try relax a little best wishes

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE NEW GOVERNMENT HEALTH INSURANCE JUST RECENTLY PASSED?

AM A COLLEGE STUDENT THAT CAN BARELY PAY FOR COLLEGE RIGHT NOW ..IF I CAN'T AFFORD HEALTH INSURANCE, HOW CAN I APPLY FOR GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE.
--------------------
It's really sad how many people were duped. If you have no money you now do what people have been doing since 1965, you apply with your state Medicaid department. If you don't qualify for Medicaid many colleges have cheap basic plans available.

Are Australians covered for any public health insurance when living in the UK?

I am just trying to work out if it is cheaper for my girlfriend and I to get travel insurance or private health insurance as we will be abroad for 15 - 18mths
--------------------
Unless you are working and have been paying your "stamp" you will not be entitled to the services of the NHS for free. If you became ill or had an accident you would probably be seen to but you would have to pay. If I was in your shoes I would take out travel insurance...I certainly wouldn't like to receive a bill from anyone if I had an accident and had to arrange for the air ambulance to take me back to Australia. You also have to consider what would happen to the other one of you if circumstances were such that one of you became ill or had to be flown home...you wouldn't get much help from the NHS there!
