I am choosing a health insurance to benefit myself, but i am not sure what in-network and out-network means so therefore i cannot make my decision. Does anyone know what these two mean? Anything you know helps!
--------------------
In-Network means choosing one of the plan's providers that has agreed to a pre-set formula for reimbursement. You usually pay a lower deductible for using In-Network providers. Out-Network means the provider has not agreed to the reimbursement formula of the insurance plan. You will often pay a higher deductible, but you get to choose any doctor you like.

Can 3 adults be covered under one family health insurance plan?
My husband is ordered by divorce decree to cover his ex-wife and son for health insurance. He is now married to me and we have a son. Up to 3 weeks ago when I lost my job, I just carried my own individual health insurance through my company. I think I should be on his family plan now and not her. Does anyone know if the ex-wife can be carried on the same plan and my husband and me and our kids as a dependent?
--------------------
The ex-spouse is usually not eligible for health insurance coverage once a person remarries. You, as current spouse, and all of his children, should be on his family plan.

Will throwing the health insurance companies under the bus magically lower the cost of health care?
Have you ever paid for your medical bills using your own money? If you have then you would know the insurance companies are not the ones charging outrageous prices. Its the health care providers that are charging so much. Funny how the Obama administration only wants to focus on a small part of the problem eliminating any chances of actually fixing the real problems.

Insurance companies have about 30% overhead vs 4% for medicare.....that means medicare has more of its funding actually getting to where it needs to go, while the private insurance siphons more money to investors and CEOs for private jets. The difference is greater than 1/4 of their total income from insurance fees. However, tackling the insurance companies without following up with the crooks at the drug companies will ultimately be insufficient. No other nation on earth pays more for the same drugs we buy and every other country pays less....we cant have that if we want affordable healthcare.

who is responsible for paying health insurance for a child in a divorce?
If the court orders that I pay a certain amount in child support and that both the petitioner and respondent each pay 50% of all unreimbursed medical, dental and orthodontia expenses incurred on behalf of the minor, does that mean that we are both responsible for half of the health and dental insurance?
--------------------
I would think who ever can get it the cheapest. Surely you would want your own child have medical coverage. 50/50 sounds fair if you have 50/50 time with the boy. If not then I think whoever has him and is actually the parent (you can't be a parent when you are with him only four days a month) should pick up the medical tab. After all they are the ones who will be making the medical decisions.

Where can I get affordable health insurance in New York State?
I need health insurance hopefully that also includes dental. I make to much for state run plans and don't have enough for private plans they want as much as $1,000 and there is no way I can afford that. But I can't afford not having any either. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
--------------------
Dental is seperate from health insurance, and New York is one of the most expensive states to buy coverage in. There's no "bargain". There's no "deal". With health insurance, you get what you pay for, and the better the coverage, the more it costs. Flat out. There's either welfare health insurance - the state plan, private health insurance, which you say you can't afford, or a group plan through your employer - so you might have to switch jobs to find that. You need to talk to a local agent, not online websites which will harvest your personal information to sell it. You can find a local agent at www.iiaba.net.

what are the qualifications and requirements for health insurance?
I am 22 years old, and a full time college student, who is struggling to make ends meet, my parents health insurance through their employer does not cover me because I am over 21. I don't have a stable job and have worked a couple of part time jobs in the past couple of years. I was wondering what the qualifications for DSHS health insurance is? do I have any options to obtain free health insurance? I am from Washington.
